X New post ••• This hotel boasts one of the finest customer service experiences I've ever encountered. From the moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere was truly exceptional. The two ladies at the front desk, along with their supervisor, were extremely courteous and accommodating. Despite our scheduled 3 pm check-in, we arrived at 10 am and were graciously offered a tour by the supervisor, who also upgraded my room to one with pool access and suites at no additional charge. Upon inquiry, I discovered that the hotel is family-owned, which resonated with me as I work for a family-owned store and appreciate their dynamic and energy. The happiness of the employees was palpable, from the front desk staff to room service and the breakfast hostess. It's evident that they are treated well, with some staff members having over 15 years of service, and speaking fondly of the hotel's owner as a kind family figure. The hotel's location is ideal, situated directly in front of the pedestrian lane that leads to the beach, next to an excellent seafood restaurant, Harbor Fish, where I highly recommend trying the fish tacos MUST TRY THEIR FISH TACOS! It's also 5 min walk from the little Mom and Pop stores and restaurants. I've included some photos of their breakfast buffet, which, while not as extensive as some larger hotels like Hilton, was more than satisfactory given the exceptional customer service. Breakfast with a beach view!? Yes please!

Blown away by the customer service. Andrew the evening guy was so friendly and generous in so many ways. Very cool fire pit vibe and breakfast with an ocean view. We plan to be back again.

The property is a classic, retro-style hotel that has clearly undergone some recent remodeling. While the efforts to keep the space clean and well-maintained are evident, the "vintage" charm comes with several significant trade-offs regarding modern convenience and accessibility. ?The Room & Accessibility The interior is spotless, but the "retro" label is a double-edged sword. The most glaring issue is the lack of accessibility features; there are no grab bars or handles in the shower or bathroom, limited electric outlets, poor HVAC and ventilation, the bathroomwill be very wet. Furthermore, the building does not have an elevator. If you are assigned a room on an upper floor, be prepared to haul your luggage up the stairs yourself. ?Service & Amenities This is not a full-service establishment. There is no 24-hour front desk, they do not honor tax exempt gov reservations and they do not clean rooms at this hotel ?. We did not get to enjoy breakfast because it doesn't start until after 7, definitely not a place for a business traveler. ?Connectivity The Wi-Fi here is extremely slow and spotty. It struggled to handle basic browsing, let alone any professional tasks or streaming. ?Final Verdict If you strictly prioritize cleanliness and a nostalgic aesthetic over everything else, you might find this acceptable. However, for the modern traveler who expects basic accessibility, constant staff availability, and functional internet, this stay falls very short.

This hotel is in a perfect location! Right across from a beautiful beach. The suite was newly remodeled and the bed was so comfortable. They do offer things to be used at the beach in the front office. There is parking for a fee. One downside, the bathroom definitely needs an exhaust. I was getting ready after showering and the water that was on the ceiling was dripping on me. There is a window at the top of the shower but that should not be a reason to not have an exhaust. I couldnt even reach that window if I tried, it was way too high.

Beautiful hotel along the Carlsbad Beach. Breakfast is simple and tasty and the pools are great for families to enjoy. My day was a little complicated because the heater wasn’t working and it made for a cold night, but the hotel worked hard to make it right. Jay, the front office manager and Alyson, set me up in another room to spend an additional night and I’m so glad that they did. Things don’t always go perfectly, but a business, such as this, is then given the opportunity to make a customers experience exceptional, which they certainly did. I hope to return again soon. So very relaxing.

This is my favorite best western. The location is ideal as it is in Carlsbad village and is very walkable and no shortage of things to do and see. You walk out the door and cross the street for great beach access. The employees are great at what they do and the housekeeping staff is amazing

Great location!!!!! Carlsbad Village is a super spot for food and relaxing. The beach is literally across the street from the hotel. You are 5 blocks from great coffee shops and eateries. We changed rooms after night one. The staff was extremely accommodating. No issues the rest of our stay. They have a nice full breakfast every morning 6:30-9:30am. They have a small workout room with free weights, stationary bike and treadmill. We’ll come back here because of the location and the service!

Almost perfect stay! The Best Western Plus Beach View Lodge in Carlsbad exceeded expectations in so many ways: the breakfast was great, customer service was warm and attentive, and the location couldn’t be better. It’s close to everything yet just far enough to feel peaceful and quiet. I especially loved the fire pit area and the ocean view, which made mornings and evenings feel extra special. The only downsides were the super tight parking spaces…definitely manageable, just a bit tricky if you have a larger vehicle and it wasn’t complementary like advertised. Overall, an amazing spot for a relaxing getaway. I’d absolutely stay here again! ??

Lovely hotel! Very cool, southern california vibes, right across the street from the beach, and walking distance from all the restaurants and shopping of downtown Carlsbad. We loved watching & listening to the ocean from the upper patio deck, and really enjoyed the gas fireplace in the room. That was such a unique touch and so enjoyable! I liked being able to walk to the restaurants downtown without being RIGHT in the middle of the all the noise. It was a perfect location. Good breakfast included hot foods. Nice staff were gracious & helpful. The manager Andrew helped us out with our questions and gave us some great recommendations for where to eat & what to do. We were here for a two-day couple's trip and definitely want to come back longer for a family vacation.

We booked a king suite based off the photos on the website. Don't be mislead They are not accurate Its realistically a motel 6 with a kitchenette. Old building and the bathroom didn't even have a ceiling fan, tiny old style shower . They charge $20 a day for parking on their property. Even though im paying almost a grand for 2 nights. The customer service is mediocre from thr staff. The only views of the ocean is if you walk to the front of the hotel. Our bedroom had a view of an alley. Save your $$ go stay at a better hotel. Especially if your spending this kind of money.
