My family and I have stayed at best Western hotels for 20 years or more this Place is by far the worst experience I’ve had in any hotel first off. It says it’s by the sea. It’s really next to Highway five secondly, the room stank there were bugs in the room. We are family of five and we made our reservation for five people to adults and three children. Their accommodations were only for four people. The staff is horrible. They wouldn’t bring us towels when we complained, we asked to speak to the manager we never spoke to the aunt Manager their homeless people walking through the parking lot at the middle of the night. The hallways are dingy and dirty. It just was the most horrible experience. I had to sleep in my car to protect it from homeless people and the staff was not very kind at all on the contrary, so ensure this was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life at a hotel.

We're next to/ facing the freeway. The traffic noise is a lot. Could potentially drown it out with the a.c. but it doesnt work in my room. When I informed the front desk, they said theres nothing they could do. The smoke alarm started beeping while I was in the shower. I let the front desk know. They came and took the entire smoke alarm off the ceiling. Haven't brought a replacement. The floor in this room feels disgusting against my feet. You can definitely feel like years of build up. Not sure why but the floor feels moist when walking around the room. Just keeping my shoes on at this point.

For the price you pay, you really can't complain. We stayed here one night with 2 adults and 2 kids. Rooms were spacious with a full size fridge, microwave, stove and counter space. The place was clean, the bathroom included, shampoo/conditioner/body soap as well as hand soap and lotion. This place also has a small but decent gym, pool and hot tub. Breakfast is included and it included breads, eggs, potato, sausage, oatmeal, waffles, muffins, fruits, juices and coffee. I loved the location as it's close by to grocery stores, freeways, outlets and Legoland.

My stay at Best Western Carlsbad By The Sea was extremely disappointing and raised serious health concerns. From the moment we entered our room, there was a strong moldy/mildew odor that was impossible to ignore. As someone with asthma and respiratory issues, the smell immediately began affecting my breathing and progressively became worse during our stay. To make matters even worse, we discovered bugs in the room. When we reported the problem, we expected the hotel to either move us to another room or take immediate steps to resolve the issue. Instead, management refused to provide us with a different room and simply offered a can of bug spray (Raid), expecting us to spray the room ourselves. That is not an acceptable solution for paying guests. Because of the moldy odor and my worsening respiratory symptoms, we had no choice but to leave the hotel early. Despite the health concerns and the documented issues with the room, management refused to provide an appropriate resolution and would not issue a refund for the unused portion of our stay. Cleanliness, guest safety, and customer service should be top priorities for any hotel. Unfortunately, our experience reflected none of those. I cannot recommend this property, especially to anyone with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory conditions. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and addresses the mold/mildew odor, pest issues, and the way guests’ legitimate concerns are handled.

Huge shoutout to Noel for making our stay unforgettable! We checked in around 6:30 PM, and he immediately made everything smooth, fast, and welcoming. My daughter was crying after the drive, and he kindly offered her ice cream which instantly made her smile. Later, she accidentally left her pool toys outside and another family took them, but Noel went above and beyond, asking them, and personally returned them to our room. That level of care truly stood out. This was our second trip from the Bay Area for LEGOLAND, and overall we really enjoyed this hotel. The pool and hot tub were cleaner, bigger, and more beautiful than La Quinta across where we stayed before, and the atmosphere felt much friendlier and even the guests and staff were much more welcoming. A few small things could improve like the fridge noise and curtains not being fully blackout, but honestly for the price this place is a great value. We’ll definitely be staying here again, especially because of Noel!

We stayed here on a birthday trip and they were great. Easy check in and they got us in early. The staff were very professional and made everything so easy. The pool, spa, and gym were great. Thank you for the great hospitality.

I can barely put into words how incredible this trip has been for our family. Before we even checked in the general manager let us know he would be available if we needed him for anything, which I appreciated! Then the moment we checked in the hospitality was unmatched. I booked 2 rooms for 1 night here and was pleasantly surprised. I've stayed at all the hotels there in that area and for price, comfort and the breakfast I think this was the best choice. I had Itzel behind the counter who had great customer service help me out. For what I needed the rooms for this trip it was perfect. The beds were comfortable, room had coffee, fridge, microwave, 2 t.v's , a couch , extra seating with tables. Didn't use the spa and pool but it looked clean and everyone having fun. I'll book here next time!

We loved our stay! When we arrived we were greeted at the front desk by Sergio and he checked us in and answered all our questions and also very friendly. We asked about the included breakfast and another guy named Shaun described the breakfast to us. So the room was amazing, we had one with living room, full kitchen and bedroom separated. The beds were super comfy too! The breakfast was great, eggs, sausage, oatmeal and yogurt. Highly recommend for a quiet and enjoyable stay.

Wow, for the price and location we were absolutely stunned and satisfied with our stay. The supposed new general manager is doing something right! Despite staying on a holiday, this was the most affordable and best bang for our buck which included a very delicious free breakfast from 7-10. The room came with Youtube and Netflix on the TV and there’s also a pool & jacuzzi. Our room was right next to the freeway which could be a problem for some people but wasn’t really for us. Staff was very kind and the property is very clean. I don’t think the photos on Google serve it justice either because it’s generally a very beautiful property near others. This is definitely the place you’d want to take your family for a vacation to anything within 50 miles. I’m definitely coming back!
