I had high hopes for the Staybridge hotel in Carlsbad since it is part of the IHG group. I stayed here for 15 nights while traveling for business, as this is the hotel chain our company uses for staff accommodation. There are a few positives. The pool and outdoor recreational areas are excellent. Laundry facilities are also available on site, although they are quite old. Breakfast is included, but after three attempts to enjoy it, I ended up paying for breakfast elsewhere for the rest of my stay. Unfortunately, the whole hotel has a strange mildew-like smell. I think it might be due to the linen freshener or cleaning products being used as it is noticeable throughout the property. The biggest downside for me was that none of the windows open. If you like having fresh air or a breeze in your room, you won’t get that here. Each time I turned on the air conditioning, I developed a sore throat within about an hour. This made the lack of ventilation especially frustrating during a long stay. On the final day, house keeping was knocking on my door prior 10am, despite the do not disturb sign being placed on my door, and checkout not until 11am. I would also strongly recommend avoiding rooms 110, 111, 112, 114, and 116 on the ground floor. These rooms are next to high-traffic areas, including the fitness center, laundry, and a popular side exit door that slams shut. There is a long road ahead for this hotel, hopefully, they can make some improvements in the future, especially concerning ventilation, odor, and the overall guest experience.

I stayed here as part of my move to the area. Great location from which to commute to my new job, as well as explore the area while looking for a new apartment. The employees were friendly and accommodating, and the complimentary food options as well as the amenities were well appreciated.

We recently had the pleasure of staying here for the second time, and I can’t say enough about the incredible cleaning staff! Led by Nahelia, the team, including Abigail, Venecia, and Sabrina, consistently impressed us with their warmth and professionalism. Every time we encountered them, they greeted us with smiles and made us feel truly welcomed. The cleanliness of our room was exceptional, and whenever I needed to turn in dirty linens or towels, they were quick to accommodate me with fresh ones. It was such a relief to have that level of service, especially while traveling with kids. One of the highlights of our stay was how Nahelia recognized us from our visit last year. I had a lovely conversation with her last time, and it felt great to be remembered. It really adds a personal touch to the experience! The hotel is very kid-friendly, which we loved. The free washers and dryers were a fantastic bonus, especially after long days at the beach and Waterpark. A special shoutout to the young lady who works overnight with the short curly hair—she was always sweet and welcoming whenever we entered the lobby or needed assistance. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy the complimentary breakfast as much as we would have liked due to ongoing renovations and the early closing time, but that didn’t overshadow our positive experience. While we’ve stayed here twice, we’re unsure if we’ll return again. However, I highly recommend this hotel for it's wonderful staff(some), and family-friendly amenities. Thank you, for another memorable stay!

I decided to take a vacation last minute using my credit card points for hotels. My mother and I decided on Legoland for my 15 year old, 2.5 year old, and 2 month old. After reading through so many reviews I lost count, I decided for the positive reviews and points, Staybridge Carlsbad would work well for our needs. We brought our own groceries to reduce the cost of our vacation and was glad we could find a suite that would accommodate all five of us. Our suite was walk in to the kitchen and living room and there was a desk and bar top with two barstools. Then you walk through two doors that close with a gap, they don't click together to close so there's always a gap but it worked for us, and beyond those doors was a room with two Queen beds and a bathroom. It was nice that my 15 year old boy could be sleeping in the living room while all four of us girls were in the bedroom. The bathroom was a walk-in shower, which was newer looking and very nice but not for my toddler or baby so I suggest bringing a little tub or something. We bought one at Target to use for the little ones. I would say the only negative is the pull-out sofa bed is a joke of a mattress. I mean, it's a bed, too, that a human being with a spine and nerve endings has to sleep on so I suggest the hotel invest a little money into a decent mattress. My 15 year old had to just sleep on the couch because the mattress was absolutely awful. The room was older, too, definitely updated some but not as nice as like the Hyatt House near Disneyland. I would absolutely recommend this place still. I think it's exceptional value for the space ypu get and the location. I want to add that everyone was very nice, also. Daniel checked us im the first night and he was so kind and helpful. Even though I didn't remember everyone's name, everyone was wonderful. The breakfast wasn't bad, per my family, I am celiac so I didn't eat anything at the hotel but got good reviews from my mom, toddler, and teen. The courtyard is really nice to hang out in during their "social" time, which is a couple days a week in the evening with a little pop-up bar, drinks, and a couple food items. I didn't eat anything again but we did sit in the courtyard with our juice and my toddler loved it. I highly recommend this hotel. I feel like people have been sleeping on this one and I'm not entirely sure why. I saw not one bug, also. I absolutely hate bugs so if I even see mention of one in a review I avoid that place like the plague but I can say this place is very clean. As for amenities, we did wash a load of laundry and found one of my shirts was still completely dirty (baby spitup) after it had been washed and dried so not the greatest washer. I used the large front load washer. They had three top loaders and one front loader. Don't use the front loader. They had four dryers but one had an out of order sign on it and the one above it stopped working so I informed the front desk but the wait for the two working dryers was wild. My mom stayed up to get our load dried but other people ended up taking their wet clothes to a nearby laundromat to dry them because it was already 9pm. For an extended Stay type of hotel or suite, we were a little confused why they had such a small amount of washers and dryers for laundry. These things aren't the end of the world but they do put a kink in your vacation a little. I still think it was a great choice and I would gladly stay here again.

Was upgraded from the holiday inn next door, very comfortable rooms furnished with a real kitchen (dishwasher, fridge, stove, nicer than most hotel ‘kitchenettes’..) and high ceilings (on the 3rd floor at least). Very nice facilities in general, didn’t use the pool but there was a nice sports area in the central courtyard. Bed was comfortable.

It’s a good hotel room but god was the breakfast buffet AWFUL! some days you get either nasty scrambled eggs with gravy or cheese omelettes which arent too bad, but also you don’t get much else aside from waffles, cereal, bananas, oranges, apples and assorted breads to toast. There’s very limited amount of tables, so take that into consideration before staying here.

Before anything, the front desk service tried to do their best. On a five days stay we had to move twice. The first room had small roaches ? even in the dishwasher. The second room smelt bad and needed to be refreshed a great deal. The third room was just ok. The floors in the lobby smelt bad probably from the abused water that was cleaned with and that was everyday. The breakfast runs out if you are not down the first hour. The trash cans would be full from the day before and the hot water is out. For $200+ a night this is very bad. I don’t not recommend that for family vacations

????? "Home away from home with a great breakfast!" I had a wonderful stay at Staybridge Suites. It really does feel more like a home than a hotel. The Highlights: Top-notch Staff: The front desk team was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in. Clean & Cozy: My room was spotless and very comfortable. It has a great layout that makes it easy to relax. Great Breakfast: One of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had lately—lots of good options to choose from. Location & Safety: The hotel is in a prime location and I felt very safe leaving my car in their lot. One minor note: They are currently resurfacing the parking lot. It’s great that they are maintaining the property, but it did mean a bit of a longer walk to the entrance than usual during this visit. Overall, a fantastic experience. I’ll definitely be back!

We appreciated the responsive staff, full kitchen, spacious rooms, attentive housekeepers, ample parking, nearby restaurants, free breakfast and happy hour. We arrived to a friendly and efficient welcome from staff at the desk. We were grateful for the easy and pleasant check-in; our flight had been delayed and we arrived, exhausted, after midnight.
