The Cassara Carlsbad offers a convenient location near Legoland and Carlsbad attractions, featuring multiple pools and family-friendly amenities. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in service, cleanliness issues, and outdated facilities, particularly concerning the promised flower fields and room maintenance. Some guests reported issues with parking and the laundry facilities.

Seth at the check-in desk was very welcoming and patient with my questions. We only stopped for one night (I messed up my booking for legoland and had to check out a day early), but I think we will try to stay again. We liked the room here more than legoland. It gave us a quiet place to relax, their kid activities were awesome, the family pool and splash pad were great, and the food was good. I hope the flower fields are done growing in the next time we visit. Half of it was dirt while we were there, but the other half was beautiful. Be sure to keep an eye out for parking by the Karl Strauss, the lot was full for us, so we had to park underground. Kind of a long walk to our room, so I ran back to the car when I saw spaces open up.

Startlingly bad. We stayed at Grand Pacific Palisades last year to see the flower fields and loved it so tried to book again. My wife misunderstood that this is NOT (like REALLY not) the same hotel. Last year we were told we would get a stay at GPP for going to a vacation club presentation but the points didn't even cover a single night--REALLY glad we didn't do it now--and I tried talking to the clerk at the Cassara desk and tried to see if we could switch potentially to Palisades or another room over the flowers since that was our primary reason to travel because the room that they EXPLICITLY STATED overlooked the flower fields when called and online was tucked in the corner over the weeds. The clerk seemed overworked but was SUPER dismissive and inhospitable ("how would I know if they have rooms, we just share a lobby"). It got worse from there. I tried Hilton customer service and they were courteous but useless, couldn't even swap rooms for the next two nights. Rather than the kitchen we had planned for (and thought we paid for) there was a microwave on a little table and a fridge underneath that didn't get cold in the 3 days we were there. The towels were so bad that I actually thought I must have grabbed a floor mat by mistake-tried a couple and they were the same. Even most of the staff at the little restaurant bar were pretty cold. The only people even remotely willing to try and help were the folks across the lobby at GPP, but even they didn't call back after saying they would. I may reluctantly try Palisades again since they're only indirectly Hilton and the rest of the property really is pretty nice with decent pools and right between the flower fields and Legoland, but Hilton has lost us for the foreseeable future.

Do NOT stay here for Legoland! We booked this hotel through the Legoland site as the closest hotel to Legoland with early entry and a private gate within walking distance. First, the hotel feigns ignorance about all things Legoland. They had no idea what time early entry was, not sure when the private gate would be open. Legoland needs to have a serious talk with the management of this hotel if they continue using them. Surprise, we get to the gate the first day at 9AM and it's locked. Early entry starts at 9:15. Call the hotel and they say maybe it will open at 10AM, they're not sure. An employee tells us it's a 6 minute walk to the parking lot if we don't want to wait and see. It was NOT a 6 minute walk. It was a long walk along a very busy street/highway followed by a 10 minute trek straight uphill just to get to an employee entrance. Mind you we had a stroller, a wagon, and 8 people and it was about 80 degrees. It was a nightmare and the first day was ruined out the gate. Next, we buy smores kits to use by their firepit. On the way there, a rat runs straight across the path. A huge rat, which causes me to look around and there are black rat boxes all over the place the rats are avoiding. So gross. Our room had gnats all behind the mirror and when we came back from a long day there were dead gnats all over the sink counter. Housekeeping makes the beds but doesn't bother to wipe anything down including sink and bathtub. I will never stay here again and I am disappointed Legoland partners with and markets this hotel.

Quoted 460$ total with taxes, they added 100$ for two night parking and 50$ for resort fee to use their amenities. Their amenities include swimming pool ? and that’s where their amenities list end. Costed 630$ total. Location is 5-10 min drive from the beach, you will not be able to walk there for sure. Service is good, rooms are too basic, for the hotel that costs 300$ a night. Hotel has a lot of families with kids tho.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cassara. I would recommend this resort to anyone who is coming to Legoland California, since it is within walking distance(7 minute walk). They have several activities for the little ones like a splash pad and a basketball court. You can borrow a basketball from the front desk. This made my sons trip to where he didn't want to leave the hotel. The have a quiet pool as well, tailored more to adults. It is very much separated from the other pool with the splash pad and hot tub. I paid 36$ for parking per night but I didnt have to pay for parking at Legoland. Also, knowing we were able to get to our hotel so easily if needed, made our Legoland day so relaxing.

Disappointing Experience – Not the Hilton Standard I recently stayed at Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, and unfortunately, the experience fell well below what I associate with the Hilton brand. From arrival, the customer service was noticeably indifferent. The front desk team appeared disengaged and unwelcoming, not overtly rude, but certainly not warm or service-oriented. It did not feel like the hospitality standard Hilton is known for. The room readiness was also inadequate. There was a noticeable odor in the room upon entry, which gave the impression that proper ventilation or inspection had not been completed prior to check-in. Another point of concern is the “hotel-within-a-hotel” setup. The property appears to operate alongside a code-share or vacation ownership component. There was a clear difference in how hotel guests versus code-share owners were treated, with what felt like preferential access and prioritization. This dynamic should be made more transparent in the property description so guests understand the structure before booking. Additionally, the photos on the hotel’s profile are misleading. The views and presentation shown online do not accurately reflect the actual positioning and outlook of many rooms. Expectations set by the listing do not align with reality. Overall, this stay did not meet Hilton standards, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve service consistency and transparency.

From moment we stepped into the lobby, the service and attention by personal was outstanding. The room was well detailed. Kitchen had all the items to make meals, most complete kitchen we've ever had on any stop. There is close restaurants, fast food and Starbucks. Also, there is a Cosco.

Second stay at Cassara Carlsbad and it did not disappoint! We stayed over Valentine’s weekend and they surprised my wife with chocolate-covered strawberries such a classy and thoughtful gesture. Our daughter loves the breakfast, and the staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Huge shoutout to Adan Mendoza for always making us feel at home. Being walking distance to Legoland California makes it perfect for families. We’ll absolutely be back again!

This is a beautiful hotel, with one of the largest pools I have seen at one, a splash pad area for kids, and it is walking distance from Legoland. The rooms are clean and comfortable, mine even has a nice view from a balcony. Staff was courteous, the food is very good, and you get all the other Hilton benefits depending on your status. I would stay here again, it would be well suited to family because of the location and on-site amenities. However.... This might be a non-factor for most people, and in fact I might be overreacting to it, but....I went to do a load of laundry, and the laundry machines here require you to download an app, create a profile, and upload credit card data in order to pay. There is no coin option, and no guest option on the app. You must create an account and upload your card. The app then requires you to allow access to find nearby machines. I have been to places where you scan a QR code to pay, but the amount of access you have to grant here is too much. The only possible reason is that whoever is running the machines (the timeshare resort that shares the building with Cassara) is collecting data. This was a choice. Pro's -Great staff -Great rooms and amenities, well maintained and elegant -Really good food, and another great food option in the parking lot (Karl Strauss Brewhouse) Con's -The laundry situation. They made a simple thing complicated. Why not a coin option? Why not an option to pay as a guest without an app? I'm on to you...... -As with most Hilton hotels, the daily $15 credit has replaced the free breakfast. However, there are no good options for $15, so you are coming out of pocket anyway. My recommendation has been: Offer a simple, quality, sufficient breakfast for $15 so at the very least we break even. -Why to hotel gyms always suck?

Stayed here for 5 nights. Half way through the stay I had late night loud upstairs neighbors. Andrew at the front desk quickly resolved my issue by moving me to a room to the top floor and it had a view of the ocean. This level of customer service will keep me coming back to this hotel. Thank you Andrew!
