From the moment, checking in to the moment of checking out, my experience at this hotel was outstanding. The front desk made everything smooth and welcoming, and the room was great. I especially want to recognize Liliana for her exceptional service during both check?in and check?out. She was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive, answering all questions with a smile and making sure all details were correct. Her kindness and attention to detail truly made me feel taken care of and set the tone for a great stay. Thanks to Liliana and the rest of the staff, I left feeling appreciated, and I would not hesitate to reserve again or recommend this hotel to friends and family. Definitely a well?deserved 5 stars.

Very nice hotel. Staff is very friendly. They do not have a minimum age to check in. So 18 year old travelers will be okay checking in. You just need your ID and the card you used with your name on it. The rooms are nice, clean. They have a nice pool and hot tub. Even a Laundry room. It is also close to the airport so you won't "hopefully" miss your flight. Just be warned though breakfast is not free. Its 12$ per person if prepaid before morning. If not prepaid by morning its about 17$. Which was no problem for me at least? But people who want a free breakfast I understand would be peeved lol. Otherwise nice hotel maybe ask for a room on the 3rd floor. You can hear people walking if on the lower floors. Look for deals online, I got my king bedroom for 86$

I stayed at this hotel in January because they were the host hotel for the Carlsbad marathon. It was such a good experience, the staff were great, rooms were clean, restaurant and bar were the perfect touch! Love the breakfast buffet it was clean and stocked with all the best breakfast items. In the lobby there is an advertisement for LEGOLAND which led me to book the same hotel again for two months later for my son’s bday. We came back to the same hotel and had an even BETTER experience. Again, the staff was so nice and accommodating and sweet to my boys. This is a family friendly hotel and they have all the amenities you could want! Thank you guys for being so great for not one but TWO stays this year! We will be back!

The hotel itself was good. Parking was plentiful. The gentleman who checked me in, tall red haired young man was fantastic. He suggested a wonderful Italian restaurant for me to check out called 2051 Cocina Italiana- it was phenomenal. He actually even checked my room preference which is unheard of from a front desk clerk these days. I believe his name was Dylan but I could be wrong. I love the feature for texting you once you check in and sporadically asking how things are. There was also a short curly haired young woman working one evening who went above and beyond to get me some honey when I started getting a little under the weather. I came in around 1am on Saturday night and the woman working the front desk didn’t look or even bother speaking to me. Outside of her, everyone in the hotel was amazingly friendly. The bathrooms are well equipped with towels and there’s a micro fridge in the King room and they are sparkling clean. I declined housekeeping so I could get my bonus points! 4 nights @ 500/night is worth it. My entire 4 night stay was paid using points. Every housekeeper I passed told me hi and was very friendly! My couple of minor inconveniences is that there’s no microwave in the room, which seems unusual for IHG hotels these days. They are located on each floor by the ice machines, but that’s not convenient imo. The lack of tea/coffee being available is also a nuisance. I have grown accustomed as a Diamond Elite member to the new machines they have. I’m a tea drinker and bring my own, I just like having hot water available and a different tea option. Hot water is available in the gym (??) using a portable water container. I imagine coffee drinkers must not care for this either. GET THE MACHINE!!! The hotel is located about 10 mins off the I-5. When I booked the room was much cheaper than everything else around and also had the highest ratings of IHG hotels nearby. This is why I booked it. Overall this was a wonderful stay.

My parents and I flew in for a memorial/celebration of life. My parents stayed here previously and I had the opportunity to stay here 1/29-1/31/26. Patty Dahnke was by far the best host imaginable. She took such great care of us and my parents that there are no words that can emphasize how much she cares. She is truly a one of a kind. Thank you Patty??

As an event planner & coordinator I can say hands down the holiday inn Carlsbad venue & banquet staff have been some of the easiest and professional people I work with in North County, SD. I have had the opportunity to execute many events for well over 5 years with them and communication is always clear, organization is on point, customer service is top priority for them towards the coordinator and the client. They work as a team with you and really make you feel confident in any case scenario, they are there to have your back and make sure that the event is executed properly. I haved worked with Jenn & Cesar for many years and most recently accomplished an event with Jenn & Luca, as well as Mario. They have all been fantastic, the ballroom is very spacious as well as their outdoor terrace courtyard which is a plus! Many of my clients absolutely love the holiday inn Carlsbad, in fact we have a client that just had her daughters Quinceanera party on 1-10-26, she is a returning client, we also did her oldest daughters Quinceanera at the holiday inn horizon ballroom two years ago! Many of their guests came from out of town so our clients loved the convenience of the event portion as well as the hospitality with the stratus restaurant in-house, and the hotel room accommodations. I highly recommend this venue if you are a planner shopping for your client or if you are a customer shopping on your own!

During my stay at the Holiday Inn in Carlsbad, the hotel’s operations were consistently well-managed, and staff interactions were professional and efficient across all departments. Front desk check-in and check-out were handled promptly, housekeeping maintained rooms to expected cleanliness standards, and common areas were kept orderly throughout the day. Staff members communicated clearly, responded to requests in a timely manner, and demonstrated familiarity with hotel procedures and guest needs. One staff member in particular, Todd, stood out for his consistent attentiveness and clear, solution-oriented communication. His handling of guest interactions reflected strong service training and accountability, contributing positively to the overall guest experience. Collectively, the staff functioned as a coordinated team, which materially improved the efficiency and reliability of the stay.

Great hotel! Staff was so friendly. Rooms were super clean and comfortable. It’s such a great location close to everything. The breakfast was a little confusing because you just kind of sit down and get your breakfast and then eventually someone comes around to give you a drink and charge you. I saw multiple people kind of confused about the process. But otherwise a breakfast was OK decent normal hotel breakfast.

The room was great, staff was friendly and proximity to beach areas was great. We had very noisy neighbors for our two night stay and they tried to charge us for a breakfast we never ate. They said they’d move us away from the noisy family group who occupied a few rooms around us, but we were too busy to spend the time to do it. Why pile everyone up together when they had a lot of MT areas in the hotel? Probably won’t stay there again.

A great hotel for its star level. It’s very close to Legoland, clean, and well-maintained. The property also has a nice backyard area where kids can play and burn off some energy, which was a big plus for our family. Overall, it’s a quiet, comfortable, and affordable place to stay. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and convenient hotel near Legoland.
