The Legoland Castle Hotel consistently receives positive reviews, particularly from families with young children. Guests praise the immersive Lego-themed rooms, engaging activities like treasure hunts and character meet-and-greets, and convenient access to the Legoland Park. However, some concerns have been raised regarding staffing and inconsistent service.
Love staying here its super nice having ur room soooo close to the park entrance and they have stuff to do for after the park closes since it does close really early they have a heated pool big outdoor theater and big playground also do shows with characters and stuff plus a restaurant and at the hotel on the other side they have 2 restaurants a big ship indoor playground a kids dance club and arcade. Plus the rooms are really cool queen bed and alittle room with bunk beds and they have a scavenger hunt thing where u follow clues to get a code to unlock a treasure chest in ur room that has Legos inside u get to keep... my kids love it my whole family does uts a cool place
Started in the Dragon Room. The decor is awesome, the bed is okay and comes with a comforter. I've stayed in many places and this one tops the list. It is very well thought out for both kids and adults. Nots: Photos taken in low light to show how cool it is. Things to watch out for... 1. When you take your card out of the slot at the door, it kills the lights and the power in the night stand. This will affect charging devices. 2. The heat takes about an hour to respond to changes and even longer to get to the commanded temperature. By design per the front desk. 3. Higher room numbers are quieter.
Juan, a Chef at Bricks Family Restaurant at the hotel, prepared this beautiful vegan pancake plate for our family. We really appreciated his thoughtfulness in presentation and the result was delicious. Although the buffet had fruits, tater tots and a few other items that fit our dietary choices, this made our kids feel like they were able to enjoy traditional breakfast foods like the other kids dining around us, too. Thank you Juan for your special attention to our needs!
This was a dream stay for our 11 year old son. He walked in and was drawn to the large pits of Lego to play with. Even the pirate play area full of Lego bits to build with was exciting. We got checked in and headed to our room. On the way he noticed a whoopie cushion Lego guy on the wall and that was all it took to put him in the extremely excited mode. Then we got into the elevator and the disco kicked and that was just another great moment. We finally got to our room and the pure emotion of walking in the room and discovering all that the room had to offer was almost overwhelming. It came with a box of Lego to play with, a treasure chest that you had to solve the puzzle to be able to open, Lego creations all around the room. It was really everything he imagined it would be. The kid beds are divided off from the grown ups bed, and even had separate TV's. We only spend one night but it was a great stay. On the property are two hotels. They both at this time shared a pool. We were not told this and had to ask where everyone was going with swim suits. The shared pool is nice, with a shallow end and a deeper end. It also has a hot tub as well. They do have a movie playing outside at night as well as a playground near the pool as well. Overall our son has been dreaming of staying at this hotel for several years and it was everything he dreamed it would be.
This was a 2nd trip to Legoland in less than 6 months. The last time we stayed at the Castle Hotel and this time we stayed at the Legoland Hotel. The rooms are great with the bunk and trundle setup. Between the two hotels we liked the Castle Hotel rooms because there's a curtains for the kids room. We again celebrated one of my kids birthdays at Legoland. The mistake was getting the birthday package. DO NOT BUY THE BIRTHDAY PACKAGE. A separate team outside of housekeeping delivers the birthday package. The delivery time isn't guaranteed but that's listed on the website. What isn't clear on the website and in talking to employees is the experience. Our room wasn't ready by 4pm. Granted the Legoland hotel confirmation suggests there's: "no need to check in right at 4:00 PM. Conquer the wait and maximize your fun in the Park by pre-checking in." In other words, don't check-in at 4pm because your room might not be ready. Once the room was ready I checked it only to find out the birthday package wasn't delivered. I spoke to someone in housekeeping and was told that a different team handled the delivery. The Legoland site explains the delivery is between 4-7pm. So if you expect to bring the birthday child to the room to see the banner on the door and the birthday blanket on the bed, double-check in advance. The front-desk, housekeeping, and birthday teams do not work together on the birthday experience. A child wants to see the banner on the door when walking up to the room. Instead of being handed a birthday bag with the blanket and gifts. As for the gifts, they're EXACTLY THE SAME as the last time I celebrated my other child's birthday at the Castle Hotel. You can't change or replace any of the gifts (I asked the front desk and gift shop). The birthday package is only special the first time. It's not going to be unique or customized based on age, interests, etc. There are some great things about the hotel. My kids love trading mini figures and getting pop badges. The birthday experience leaves so much to be desired though.
The Legoland Hotel is always such a great treat for my family. My wife and kids thoroughly enjoy the hunt for safe combination. It takes you to many of the main locations of the hotel which ultimately results in Recovering some kind of Lego prize for the Littles. (Minifigs, polybags, etc.) the Lobby build and play areas are very enjoyable for the kids and the Food at the restaurant is delicious. 10/10 definitely recommend. PS the rooms are all themed which gives you another element to come back. you have to check out all the different themes.
The breakfast buffet is a huge problem. It's utter chaos. Grown adults were pushing my little girl out of the way to get to pancakes. She held the door for three adults who didn't so much as smile at her let alone say thank you. She asked me if we were the only people at Legoland who are polite ??. Kids in the play area picked up a Lego boat my daughter made, asked who made it, and then smashed it right in front of her while they and their friends laughed. She is a really sweet kid and quietly slipped away so she could cry with just me. It was heartbreaking. The best part of Legoland was watching the Batman Lego movie on the screen which was actually really good - despite kids screaming, running in front of the screen, and being rude to other kids. The best part of the playground was seeing another Dad who had a beer and saying now that's a good idea to which he said "oh I'm well into it!" ?. Legend Overall we found the people in the hotel and inside Legoland to be so rude that we left the park early and couldn't wait to leave the hotel. The staff were barely able to answer a question and referred everything to someone else. We went to Disneyland afterwards and weekly think that Legoland needs to hire some of Disney's people to improve the people flow and provide a calmer experience. Disney was absolutely brilliant.
Let me tell you we are Disney people and honestly when my kids said they wanted to go to legoland instead of Disneyland my heart sunk. But this is one of those occasions where I was wrong. We stayed at the castle hotel and it was awesome. 5 stars from the hotel, staff, food, activities and park. Were already planning our return trip.
The hotel was amazing! We stayed at the castle side in a family suite. Extremely kid friendly! The kids had a blast. We had access to both hotels and the amenities. A little pricey, but worth it. Im 39 so I had Lego nostalgia the whole time. Highly recommend
This is my third time staying at the Legoland and the service and rooms get worse. We've gone right before COVID and right after. Lego mini figure trading was extremely limited and what was offered were incomplete pieces. The rooms used to come with daily safe puzzles and now it's only available for the first night. I do appreciate the free breakfast and free drinks they provide in the room. It boosts the stars on my review. It's just not worth it anymore to stay there. The rooms are outdated and feeling old. The shower pressure is horrid. And the best part is they put us at the very end of the hotel, right by a loading dock. So we had the pleasure of listening to the machines running from 330am til 6am. I even had a noise machine cranked up loud and could still hear the outside noise. Never again
